I. Project Background
Residential water metering mainly relies on old mechanical water meters, which have many drawbacks. In terms of metering, aging equipment leads to decreased accuracy, and scale on the dial affects readings; in the meter reading process, manual on-site meter reading, data transcription, and system input are required, which is a cumbersome and time-consuming process with a high error rate, often resulting in missed or estimated readings; at the management level, manual operations are used to complete billing and invoicing, resulting in high costs and low efficiency, leading to a certain degree of production and sales difference. There is an urgent need to improve the water supply management level through intelligent transformation.
II. Transformation Plan
(1) Terminal Water Metering Transformation
Replace mechanical water meters with IoT ultrasonic valve-controlled water meters. This water meter has a dripping detection and metering function; an internal full-straight pipe structure with low pressure loss, effectively reducing the energy consumption of the booster pump; a built-in temperature detection device that automatically warns when the temperature is below 5 degrees, facilitating timely antifreeze measures; supports prepaid functions, automatically shutting off the valve when the water fee balance is insufficient, reducing collection disputes; has a water usage statistics function, which can freeze daily and monthly usage and generate reports for user inquiries; uses wireless communication technology to achieve remote meter reading, avoiding the inconvenience of manual meter reading.
(2) Leakage Monitoring System Construction
Install large-diameter ultrasonic water meters on the main and branch pipes to monitor the water volume of each pipe section in real time. By calculating the difference in water volume from the main pipe to the branch pipe and from the branch pipe to the user end, when the difference exceeds the normal range, the intelligent water management monitoring platform automatically analyzes and warns, followed by manual investigation and repair of leaks, effectively reducing the production and sales difference.
(3) Construction of an Intelligent Water Management Monitoring Platform
Build a prepaid management platform to achieve full-pipeline water volume detection and analysis, accurately locating pipelines and leak points with production and sales differences; support water prepayment, overdue valve closure functions, and optimize the water fee collection process; has a meter replacement management function to ensure that water usage and water fee accumulation records are completely preserved after meter replacement.
